For residents who require therapy, our physical therapists will develop a customized program to increase your physical activity to improve insulin response and management.
As we age, the likelihood of falling increases dramatically. At Exceptional Living Center of Brazil, our interdisciplinary team is educated on fall risk factors and prevention strategies. Each resident is evaluated upon admission by nursing and occupational and physical therapy and receive an individualized treatment plan if they are at risk for falls. At Exceptional Living Center of Brazil, Intravenous (IV) therapy may be used to provide nutrition or medication and/or restore or maintain the body's normal fluid and electrolyte balance. Our nursing staff administers IV fluids according to physician orders, maintains and monitors injection sites, and changes tubing and dressing regularly.
Trans Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)
Trans Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) is utilized for patients who cannot or should not get their nutrition through eating. TPN bypasses the gastrointestinal tract by infusing nutrients directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous line.
Your health care provider may measure the effectiveness and side effects of the treatment using laboratory tests and physical examinations. The length of treatment depends on how well the resident responds to the medication.
We administer feeding solutions in accordance with each patient's nutritional and medical needs.
